FAQs
Wedding Floristry Pricing
What is the average spend on wedding flowers?
It’s almost an impossible question to answer, with couples all wanting a different styles, sizes and amounts of flowers. I find that weddings tend to start on an average of £1,200 to £2,000. Prices can start from £300 with bridal party flowers up to £2000 for the ceremony and reception flowers, but the sky is the limit. It is possible to have more impact with two or three larger design than several smaller ones. For more in-depth information on prices please head over to our Prices page.
What kind of budget should we allow for?
When talking about your budget is best to be open about your budget from the start so I can suggest flower choice and designs that suits your budget.
Wedding Consultations
Do you offer consultations?
Yes absolutely, I am very much a people person so where possible I will always meet face to face, I will look at your personalities and style and requirements for the day and e-mail you a detailed estimate, I find this first meeting is mostly looking at ideas.
Consultations are at my home or another convenient location for both you and me. Wedding venue visits can also be arranged upon request. You can get in touch with me here to organise a consultation.
Floral Design
Where do you source your flowers?
We source our flowers locally wherever possible and work with seasonal flowers to have the best quality and that is perfect for the season. We also have a cutting garden where we grow some of our own beautiful seasonal flowers.
Which flowers will be able to choose from?
I always advise working with the flowers that are in season, they will give you better value and also be better quality. If your wedding is at a peak time for example Valentine’s Day, then red Roses will be at a premium but I can always give you suggestions to make the most of your flower budget.
How will we share our ideas?
Pinterest is a fantastic tool to use, but it is easy to get carried away and fall in love with certain flowers and colours that are not available for your date. I would suggest finding a look that you like and let me guide you on which flowers to choose that are in season. Also having a range of colours within your colour pallet rather than focusing on one colour or flower can help.
How do you manage the impact on the environment?
Choosing designs and buying British flowers that have zero or limited impact on the environment has become the choice for many couples. By recycling containers, using different construction techniques, and by using flowers that haven’t been packaged in plastic can all go towards eliminating plastic waste in landfill.
Wedding Bookings
What happens once we book in?
Usually over the course of planning for your wedding we will have two meetings, with email updates. The initial flower design ideas will be reviewed nearer to the time of your wedding with the necessary tweaks, then six weeks before the wedding we will finalise all the details. Finally we will have a telephone or web call ten days before your wedding so you can relax before the big day!
Wedding Day
Do you deliver the flowers on the day?
Yes, I deliver all the ceremony and reception flowers. The bridal flowers are usually delivered to the wedding venue or nearby location but this can be discussed in your consultation. I also clear flowers from the wedding venue the day after the wedding.
What happens to the flowers after the wedding?
By using non chemically treated flowers and foliage, they can be composted by me after the wedding. Some of the flowers will need to be removed but you’ll be able to take the rest of the flowers home as cut flowers.
